Reading time: 6 minutes
Hello,
I'm Nicolas, and together with my wife, we want to carry on what Vitamoon's founder set out to do: a human adventure built on care, trust and the desire to share.
Every autumn, I like to slow down a little. It's the season when I feel the need to get back to simple things: cooking, taking my time and reconnecting with my natural energy.
But it's also a time of transition: the light fades, the days get shorter, our rhythm changes. The body craves more gentleness and comfort.
It's in this spirit that we came up with these simple, tasty recipes using Collagen Choco Latte, all tested at home. They're no-bake: for vitamin C, it's best not to boil it.
The 4 recipes at a glance
- Vitality Bites: a snack to prepare the night before.
- Express chocolate mousse: a dessert in 5 minutes.
- Chocolate overnight oats: breakfast ready when you wake up.
- Banana-cocoa smoothie: for after exercise.
Each recipe contains one serving of Collagen Choco Latte, i.e. 8,500 mg of PEPTAN® collagen peptides and 40 mg of vitamin C. Have one serving a day. To learn more about collagen, read What is collagen?.
1. Vitality Bites, the autumn energy recipe
We created this recipe while looking for a snack that's nourishing, balanced and tasty; ideal before a workout, after a busy morning or simply with a coffee.
Collagen Choco Latte is perfect for it. The smooth blend of cocoa, oats, coffee, cinnamon and Choco Latte collagen is a real treat.
Ingredients
- 1 serving of Vitamoon Choco Latte
- ½ banana
- 1 Medjool date (or two small dates soaked in a little hot water, or a soft fig)
- ½ tablespoon of flaxseeds
- ½ teaspoon of cocoa
- ½ teaspoon of instant coffee or chicory
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- 40 g of rolled oats
- A few toasted walnuts or hazelnuts, roughly crushed, and maybe some small pieces of chocolate?
Method
- Blitz the flaxseeds into a coarse powder.
- Add half the oats, the dry ingredients (cocoa, cinnamon, coffee or chicory) and the serving of Vitamoon Choco Latte. Blitz to a sandy texture.
- Add the half banana and the date (or fig), then blitz again until you get a smooth paste.
- Transfer the paste to a bowl and stir in the remaining oats and the walnut or hazelnut pieces.
- Shape into bars or energy balls and place them on baking paper.
- Cover with a cloth and leave overnight: the ground flaxseeds will absorb the excess moisture.
The next day, your bites are ready to enjoy!
💡 Storage tip
Keep your Vitality Bites in an airtight jar, at room temperature or in the fridge. They keep for 4 to 5 days and are perfect before exercise or as a snack.
Why I love this recipe
What I love about Vitality Bites is their balance: Collagen Choco Latte brings a cocoa sweetness, 8,500 mg of PEPTAN® collagen peptides and vitamin C; oats release energy gradually; flaxseeds provide fibre and omega-3; banana and date bring natural sugar and a soft texture; toasted hazelnuts or walnuts add crunch and keep you full.
A little treat that provides fibre, protein and flavour, and nourishes body and mind alike.
2. Express chocolate mousse
This idea comes from one of our customers, Virginie T., who shared it in her review:
“I found a really delicious recipe by mixing it with crème fraîche: it's like a delicious chocolate mousse.”
Virginie T., Collagen Choco Latte, review published on vitamoon.fr
Ingredients
- 1 serving of Collagen Choco Latte
- 3 tablespoons of thick crème fraîche (or coconut cream, for a lactose-free version)
- a few dark chocolate shavings, if you like
Method
- Pour the serving into a bowl, then add the cream.
- Whisk vigorously for one minute until smooth and airy.
- Chill for 15 minutes in the fridge, then enjoy.
3. Chocolate overnight oats
The idea: prepare it in the evening, and breakfast is waiting in the fridge.
Ingredients
- 40 g of rolled oats
- 1 serving of Collagen Choco Latte
- 150 ml of milk, dairy or plant-based
- ½ banana, sliced
- 1 tablespoon of yoghurt, if you like
Method
- In the evening, mix the serving of Choco Latte with a splash of milk in a jar until dissolved.
- Add the oats, the rest of the milk and the yoghurt. Stir.
- Close the jar and leave in the fridge overnight.
- In the morning, add the banana slices.
4. Post-workout banana-cocoa smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 serving of Collagen Choco Latte
- 1 banana
- 250 ml of milk or plant-based drink
- a few ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, if you like
Method
Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Do you take whey after training? You can add it to the same smoothie: our article whey, creatine and collagen explains how to combine them.
What about a hot drink?
Hot chocolate, mocha, matcha latte: we've devoted a whole article to hot drinks, Collagen in a hot drink: coffee, chocolate, latte, with the right habits to preserve vitamin C.
Why no-bake?
Collagen peptides can withstand heat. For vitamin C, it's best not to boil it or cook it for long (Herbig and Renard, 2017). That's why all these recipes are prepared cold or at room temperature.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage, bones and skin.
